I've witnessed many times people have said that the color black has been replaced by another, simply because it's a new trend they're interested in. In magazines, or in shop windows, I'd see the words "Red is the new Black" or "Purple is the new Black" (or yellow, or blue, or turquoise, or...) but to me, black is still black and there would never be a 'new' black.
Besides the fact that it's a neutral color that can be worn with multiple-color accessories or shoes, black clothing can also be worn as casual or formal, day- or eveningwear. From the iconic 'little black dress' to winter's black coat and tights, I really think it's a timeless factor that influences our everyday fashion, style and trend choices.
